Great vid, Taiwan is such a nice place to visit, very efficient public transport but lots of scooters. Would have been interesting to know how much distance between battery swaps and if the mountain ascent had any significant impact on the duration of charge - but gives me something to look up!

What if batteries get stolen?

This is such a great idea. Delivery riders would probably love these scooters, but I would love it, also, as a commuter vehicle.

That was fascinating, I knew nothing about Gogoro. Agree the faster we can transition to electric, the better. I can hardly stand the fumes in my small city, let alone the health concerns of all thie pollution of gas powered engines.

This was one of the best e-bike type videos I've seen in a long time. Perhaps I missed it, but do you have to TRADE IN the batteries for newly charged ones? OR Can you recharge the batteries at home?

Wait - they used 12Ga electrical wiring cords to secure this load in transit??!!! Couldn't strap it down with ratchet straps??!!!

I think I've watched these videos at least 10 times each. First, it's awesome how you continue to spend quality father-son time far beyond grade school. Second, we are all trying to go EV in the states, and instead of driving an F-150 or Expedition to the grocery store 2 miles from the house, this makes so much more sense and better for the environment. Also, all the new EV's are priced beyond what the average American can afford. Bet Chang Li can make a few modifications to qualify as a NEV vehicle and add a few safety features and still less expensive than a golf cart. Trying to make us all go EV, perhaps instead of autopilots and fancy expensive stuff, think Occam's Razor. We can all own say one daily family car and this would be a second affordable car and perhaps a single car for big cities like NY. As well, you can literally plug into a regular wall outlet and I bet this will be nowhere the strain on the electrical grid say if we all go with Tesla's/other EVs by 2035. All else being equal, the simplest answer is the best. Please make another update video soon! Thanks, Michah and Michah's dad, for great videos from a new subscriber!

So.. the user has to purchase the scooter first, then a monthly subscription to the battery swap service? What are the associated costs involved? Can a user recharge their scooters at home, is there an advantage to do so? The food looked amazing! You should do more trips like this.

Thank you for this very useful video. I only wish I'd seen it sooner. In my community doing things the Hard Way (like starting on the highest gear and staying there no matter what) is a point of pride. If you need to shift gears, then you are a sissy. No one ever explained to me that staying on that gear is actually damaging my bike.

Hey. Question, especially since you were just in Tel Aviv : Gogoro has deployed swap stations in Israel about a year ago, but I have not seen a single scooter on the road. Now, I see those stations being removed. Do you know what is happening with gogoro in IL?

Taiwan is extraordinary. Yet I feel that America's population density can't be considered equivalent to that of Taiwan. The mining of rare earth elements isn't a safe alternative per say to petroleum products. In fact it's a force multiplier. Both in good and bad ways to our energy dependent behavior. Great video. I appreciate you keeping us on the cutting edge of electrification of things.

So how long does the charge last on the equipment?

Oh my, your videos are dangerous to my financial situation, I already have a cargo e-bike and a cruiser type, but now I want a Gogoro scooter. I would love to see a system like this in the US, maybe even for cars with swappable batteries.

NY just started started test piloting 2 ebike swap stations. Not sure how well it'll work out since theres so many types of ebikes and batteries out.
